Packed up

It’s been a great three years here in paradise. As I am getting ready to move back to the mainland I want to touch on the difference I’ve seen here over mainland.

  1. A different world:
HAWAII has its own time, schedule, speech bra. I was amazed at how relaxed and laid back here. A job that takes a day might take three. If the waves are good well sick day lol.
  2. The roads and drivers.
Let’s say I long for the beltway lol. One drop of rain and its Indy 500! But don’t forget the 35 mph in the left lane!!!! Grrrr😖
  3. The houses:
Single wall construction, no ac, roosters running around in the city. The cost, wow! I never thought I’d pay $600,000 for a house! And no ac! But the view!!!

I will miss that in Texas! But now I get to head back to the land of grits and sweet tea😆.
Blessings

Get ready it’s almost time!

Well, we are the enemy now. Christians who stand on Gods word are labeled hate filled bigots! Gods word is called hate speech and we are marginilized and ridiculed for speaking against sin! Why didn’t anyone tell us this could happen? Wait Jesus did! We were told there would be wars and rumors of wars, natural disasters would get more and more. Men and women would reject natural order for their bodies. The love of many will run cold! All would hate us for His sake!

When you bring this up we are laughed at and ridiculed! Jesus also told us to look up our redemption draws near! We live in awesome times! We are seeing Revelation fulfilled before our eyes!

Keep strong! Call sin out, fight the good fight! Remember it’s Jesus fight not ours so pray for those who dispitefully use you.

Blessings

Another Year Another Grey Hair.

Growing up I had asumed I knew what life would be like when I turned 51 the second half of my life. Wow I never thought I would make it this long.  Satan had his chances long ago to remove me from this life.  From birth, I was born in March 9, 1964 at 10:02 am. Two months early, I always have been the type to run where angels fear to tread. I weighed a massive 3lbs 5oz. wow, the doctors gave me less than 50% chance of living, but God! When I was in the Navy, I injured my shoulder in bootcamp so after a year of pain the doctor wanted to look.  I had a simple scope procedure, it went great till it was time to start to wake me.  They pulled the breathing tube from my throat and I was supposed to breath, however, I was not awake so my brain and lungs said breath but my throat said no so we had problems.  I had a negitive pressure pulmanary edema wow what a mouthfull.  Well they had to put the tube back so they had to paralyse me.  Well that stopped everything, heart, lungs etc.  Out comes the paddles you know the one…clear…zap!!! Well I came back after being dead for 4 minutes.  One more time then I will move on, I was due to be ordained as a Bishop well the day came and I took my Mother with me to Pennsylvania.  It was a snowy day, I was started to get off at my exit when I saw in the distace a truck pulling off the road and I saw why.  It was a big dully bucket truck and he lost a wheel.  I am going 60 to try to get out of the way, like a torpedo at my miada!  It hit my front wheel and I went airborn 15 feet!  I landed hard but I down shifted and kept control of the car.  Pulled over and started shaking bad, looked at the car and did not look bad but later I learned how bad it was.  We drove home in the rain very slowly.  I put the car in the shop and they doubted me.  Three weeks later I get the car back with apologies. He asked me how high I went to do the damage he thought 15 feet.  God looked over me and my mother.  Satan did not want me to get my Ordination that night, but I did and God gets the glory.

Now I have a great wife, job and dog lol.  I am doing well, God has blessed me with all this and a ministry that I am just starting to walk in after 25 years. I am truly excited for the next 51 years, hmm I guess that truly makes me middle age now :).  Blessings.

Edit

Being culturally relevant is biblically dead!

Wow Rob Bell I am glad your not a pastor after this load of stuff…Bell warned that if the church keeps resisting same-sex marriage it would “continue to be even more irrelevant.”

“I think culture is already there and the church will continue to be even more irrelevant when it quotes letters from 2,000 years ago as their best defense, when you have in front of you flesh-and-blood people who are your brothers and sisters, and aunts and uncles, and co-workers and neighbors, and they love each other and just want to go through life,” he said.

“There are churches who are moving forward and there are churches who are almost regressing and making it more of a battle,” added his wife.
If me following Christ and not bowing to the world then let us be irrelevant! That’s called popularity!

Church is not called for popularity but to be hated! Church remember this. I’ll take being irrelevant over kissing Satans rear! Be strong end is soon! Be strong!

Who are you a friend with?

Friends there is new lie in Christianity but it really is not new.

Jas 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Jas 4:5 Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?
Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Jas 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Jas 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

The following are signs of a hypergrace church: Joseph G. Mattera

1. The preachers never speak against sin.

If you are in a church like this, you will notice that the word sin is usually only mentioned in the context of forgiveness of sins in Christ but hardly ever in the context of taking a stand against sin, except of course when they condemn the sin of “legalists” and “Pharisees” who are the ministers they denigrate for preaching against sin.

2. The lead pastor never takes a cultural stand for righteousness.

When issues like abortion come up, these pastors will shy away from mentioning it because they are afraid of offending new people. I can understand this to a point. But I counter that we as ministers of Christ are obligated to at least mention our positions publicly so that we use it as a teaching moment for the sheep following us. Not saying anything about an issue like abortion is another way of condoning it!

3. The Old Testament is almost totally ignored. In these churches, the Old Testament is treated as only types and shadows for sermon illustrations but has no real value regarding our standard of living today. As I show in this article, my position is that the New Testament and Old Testament are organically connected, with the New building upon the Old, not eradicating it altogether!

4. People who live immoral lives are allowed to teach and lead ministries.

One pastor was telling me that sexual immorality and drunkenness is rampant in many evangelical churches—even amongst small group leaders and other leaders in local churches! This is because there is very little accountability.

5. The lead pastor speaks often against the institutional church.

Many hypergrace pastors constantly denounce churches that are conservative in their values because they believe those churches represent the “old school” that is no longer relevant to today’s culture.

6. The lead pastor preaches against tithing.

Although I believe tithing carried over into the New Testament, I believe it is more of a biblical principle that preceded the Law of Moses (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob all tithed before Moses gave the Law), was taught by Jesus (Matt. 23) and was mentioned in other passages, like Hebrews 7.

These pastors denounce tithing as a law that was done away with in Christ.

7. The lead pastor only preaches positive motivational messages.

Those attending hypergrace churches only hear positive messages on health, wealth, prosperity, God’s love, God’s forgiveness and how to succeed in life. Although I also agree with and teach on these topics, we have to be careful to include in our preaching the whole counsel of God so that we feed the flock a balanced diet instead of just the sweetness of feel-good messages. We must do this so we are free from the blood of all men (Acts 20:26-27).

8. Key members of the church are regularly living sinful lives with impunity.

Those attending a hypergrace church will most likely find that, because of the strong emphasis on grace—with no teaching against sin or on repentance, judgment or hell—there is an atmosphere of loose living, with many involved in sexual immorality and drunkenness as well as other physical vices.

The reason for this is “the law is our schoolmaster that leads us to Christ” (Gal. 3:24) because through the (moral) law comes the knowledge of sin (Rom. 3:20). If the moral law of the Ten Commandments is not preached or alluded to, then in ignorance the people will live foolish lives and will be like the blind leading to blind because “where there is no prophetic vision the people cast off restraint, but blessed is he who keeps the law” (Prov. 28:18).

In conclusion, there are many other things I could mention regarding hypergrace churches and their preaching, like how it is one step away from universalism (the belief that all people will eventually be saved, whether they believe the gospel or not, e.g. Love Wins by Rob Bell) and liberalism, because an increasing amount of Scripture is eviscerated because it is culturally offensive (like husbands being the head of the house, views on homosexuality, etc.).

I believe antinomianism is a dangerous trend in evangelicalism and is something we need to lovingly take a stand against with our brothers and sisters who espouse it.

Wow! The reason rat poison works is the small amount of poison and all the sugar that makes it taste good! Pastors wake up! Read what the bible says not what some minister with impressive titles and letters. It means nothing! Your sleeping and taking others with you!!!

Blessings!!

Grace is not the key!

I love the quote grace is the key to overcome sin not an excuse to keep walking in it! People QUIT sugar coating the message! It is not pc to call sin sin, well as long as I live I will! If you are offended turn the channel! I can love someone while they are sinning but does not mean I accept it or APPROVED of it! So don’t try to use grace to justify your iniquity! Don’t stand in middle of road, you are either a follower of Jesus or yourself. Pick a side. None of the church fathers walked up to a person in sin and said oh your fine your a work in progress let’s not point out their sins they will be ok. No they called the sin out and healed them and cast out the demons! Used grace to overcome the world not changed for the world. People don’t forget Jesus said all these things plus greater works we will do! Satan is afraid of you and your prayers so quit making excuses! Love you

The 3 types of suicide, are they all self murder?

The church for 2000 years has said suicide is the unpardonable sin! I don’t believe that and I will share with you why. I have seen too many suicides recently and I think people need to see the plan of the devil!

Here is a interesting conundrum, I am seeing a lot of Christian ministers who I guess want to show how Godly they are decide to post to the world, declaring that suicide sends you to hell no matter what. They call it self murder, where is the line drawn? Is it all, or not? Do we really know? Here are my different types of suicide; as you will see are not all the same.

Two types of suicide:
1. Act of Love: Jumping on a hand granade is called suicide but do you really think that will send you to hell? Pushing someone out of the way of a car is the same type of action knowing you will die you lay down your life for another. Seems Jesus commanded us to do just that.

1JN 3:16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. Jesus life could not be taken so he gave up his life, is that not the definition of suicide? Jesus knew that in order for the sacrifice to save us to happen he would have to die. He knew (remember he is God) that no man can take his life, so he laid down his life for all of us, again living the commandment he gave in 1 JN 3:16.

2. Acts of deceptions:
Funny that in the last week I have had a friend from the mainland call me asking about this, a friend of his had killed herself and was worried about her. I asked if she was saved, he said yes, then I asked if she was under the curse of depression, he said yes. I really believe that if a person is depressed and fallen for the lies of the devil, then they are not fully under their right minds. After all their blinded and depressed by the father of lies himself! I am not talking I just lost some money and I am bummed, no I am talking a depression that is so dark so deep that you can not hear Gods voice. You feel that no one cares and you are being told that you are better off dead! Just do it, your a burden, your family will be relieved and your family can move on. I have been there once, I know lots of others, I am here to tell you there is no shame, get help! Talk to Pastors, friends, teachers, Doctors for help.

3. Acts of Rebellion:
I might be wrong but what I consider self murder; if a person maliciously takes their lives in a “I will just show them, boy I bet this will make them upset they will see.” Selfish, narcisistic behaviors, thinking only of them selves. I think that is self murder. I don’t know for sure, but remember they leave friends and family who it would hurt badly if you “Ministers” forget love and decide to hammer them for their loved ones moment of weakness.

Sad day

Robin-Williams-robin-williams-23183014-2000-1330I remember watching tv when I was a kid, watching Happy Days when a strange character appeared as an alien. Mork from Ork, I thought this guy is strange! He was every ware, like on full speed. I liked it and then found out he was going to have his own show, Mork and Mindy. I discovered Robin Williams and he would impact my life for years. I always loved seeing him on tv or the movies. No matter what he was on he was crazy, he was the best at going on the fly. He made fun of everyone and everything. He made movies that were funny, scary, sober, off the top and thought provoking. An Oscar winner and 3 time nominee, he took the role and made it his.
It is so sad that the man who made the world laugh, could not find one when it mattered the most. Rest in peace Robin, I pray you knew Jesus because I would so like to meet you one day and laugh.

Big 50

Sitting here picking up a dinner order and I am having a hard time really get it to sink in. In two days I will pass a milestone, half a century. When I was born it was one month to the day the Beatles came to US. I have seen a lot, last of baby boomers. I grew up in the 70’s and 80’s. 4 months prior President JFK was killed, Vietnam was just starting and Cold War was going strong. I joined the Navy in 88 and saw the end of the Soviet Union the fall of the wall which I have a piece of by the way. This is a big one what will I see in the next 50 if The Lord does not call me before that? I can’t wait to find out. Live every day like it’s your last and be ready if that is the case. Till next time.

Jackson
